Phone, text, email and you drop everything.  It takes you 15-30 minutes to get back to what you were doing and it happens again.  However, when you do have the leashes turned off you get an idiot agent/client that leaves a message…..”got a question, please call me.”  Have the guts today to be less available but deliver better service.  If you do not have a full time “communications center” (receptionist)  then your voice mail has to give the times in which you are available for phone and email communication and a request for them to leave the exact phone number that during those times the caller can be reached and to leave a complete message with the exact nature of the challenge.  It stops telephone tag, it gives you the opportunity to leave the answer to the question they have and it removes the anxiety of the caller because they know exactly when you are calling back.  During those two time blocked hours a day I also want you to handle your e and snail mail.  You now have six hours a day to accomplish your goals.
